Investigations by the Municipal Police continue to identify the driver of the car who, late yesterday evening, hit a motorcycle with two sixty-year-old spouses on board and then drove away without providing assistance. The accident occurred in Mortelle, along State Road 113, near Lido del Tirreno.
According to an initial reconstruction, the motorcycle was traveling along the main road towards Palermo when it was hit by a dark-coloured car coming from a parking area. After the impact, the driver of the car fled and disappeared without a trace.
The two spouses were rescued and transported to the emergency room of the Papardo hospital. Fortunately they suffered abrasions and bruises, but their conditions do not cause particular concern.
The Municipal Police, who intervened on site with the patrol on duty, have started investigations and are viewing the images of the video surveillance cameras present in the area to look for elements useful for identifying the vehicle and its driver. It cannot be ruled out that the person responsible may decide to spontaneously report to the authorities.
