An oversight by a motorist, perhaps due to the failure of safety devices, could have ended in tragedy this morning in Via Piemonte. Two children aged 3 and 5 who their mother was about to take to school were hit by a car reversing. Fortunately, the driver was alerted just in time by the woman’s screams and stopped the vehicle. The children were slightly affected but for the necessary checks they were transported to the pediatric emergency room of the Polyclinic, one coded green, the other orange. The municipal police were on site with commander Giovanni Giardina who wanted to personally ascertain the conditions of the children by going to the emergency room.
