Messina has formalized the hiring of Alfio Torrisi as the next first team coach. The former Reggina player, who was the protagonist of a sensational rise which did not, however, culminate with promotion to the Lega Pro, therefore starts again on the other side of the Strait. Accepting any category: be it Serie D, through a repechage that is currently unlikely, or Eccellenza, a series that the coach of Etna origins has already faced in his career. “A technician with proven experience and a profound knowledge of the category, Torrisi arrives in Messina after a journey full of results and with the aim of leading the team in the club’s new sporting course – we read in a note -. His competence, combined with the ability to enhance the group and build a solid playing identity, represents an important piece in the ACR technical project”.
Meanwhile, the club has also made official the positions for the women’s team which will most likely start from Promotion. The new coach will be Roberto Smedile, goalkeeping coach Domenico Barresi, head of the women’s sector Eleonora Fragomeni, general secretary Tommaso Scardino, athletic trainer Emanuele Vinci, development manager Vincenzo Battiato, youth sector coach Simona Guerrera, Under 15 coach Claudia Leardo, companion manager Fortunato Tripodo and manager Maria Chiara Scaffidi. A group with a strong “Unime background”, which brings together much of the university team of recent years: “A project built on competence, planning and a clear vision of the future, with a group of professionals who will work every day for the growth of Giallorossi women’s football – we read -.
It will be a season of work, passion and new challenges, with the aim of offering the girls an organised, ambitious and development-oriented environment on and off the pitch.”
