The Schifani government has approved the state of regional crisis for 12 months and the request for the national emergency for the territories of the Messina affected by bad weather between the March 28 and last April 5. The regional council, on the proposal of the President Renato Schifaniand on the basis of the report of the Regional Department of Civil Protection, he adopted the measure to encourage the repair and restoration of infrastructure and buildings in the area with urgent interventions and with extraordinary means and powers. To this end, the delegated commissioner was appointed by the general manager of the regional civil protection, Salvo Cocina.
“Let’s give an answer to the territories affected hard by the wave of bad weather – says President Schifani – in order to support the first urgent and necessary interventions, under the management of the Civil Protection. We simultaneously ask for the support of the national government so that we can count on the resources necessary to secure all the areas of the Messina area that present critical issues caused by the fury of atmospheric events “.
A first estimate of the damage to infrastructure and public and private goods, which does not understand those that occurred to the agricultural sector, amounts to about 10 million euros. The municipalities concerned are twenty -eight: Acquadolci, Alcara Li Fusi, Brolo, Capri d’Orlando, Capri Leone, Caronia, Castell’Umberto, Ficarra, Galati Mamertino, Gioiosa Marea, Librizzi, Militello Rosmarino, Messina, Montalbano Elicona, Montagnareale, Naso, Oliveri, Raccuja, Roccafiorita, Rodi Milici, San Fratelo, Sant’Angelo di Brolo, San Piero Patti, Saponara, Savoca, Sinagra, Tortorici and Tusa.
