The Port Authority of Messina has issued an ostode to regulate the safety of navigation during the international sailing regatta “Continent – Island International GPS Race 2025 “, scheduled from 23 to 27 July.
The event, organized by ASD Newkitezone, will see the participation of 40 sports units (Kitesurf, Windsurf, Wingfoil, Derive and SUP) In the water mirror between the Reggio Calabria promenade and that of Mili Marina – S. Margheritain Messina. The interested time slot ranges from 10:00 to 19:00.
The ordinance requires units in transit in the Strait, both along the commercial routes and in crossing between Reggio and Tremestieri, to reduce speed and maintain safety distances, following any instructions in the VTS of Messina. Further recommendations concern the adoption of precautionary measures by the units near the area affected by the event.
Penalties are scheduled for transgressors according to the navigation code and the pleasure boating code.
