An excellent Messina wins its first victory of the championship by beating Taranto with a clear 4-1, collapsed in the distance under the blows of a Peloritan team that was good at reacting to the goal conceded after just six minutes by Ardizzone.
Messina’s reaction was immediate, but was stopped by De Santis’s closure on Luciani, while Frisenna’s right-footed shot went high. At 19′ the “historic” episode: Marino served Anatriello, a brilliant ball for Luciani, who came into contact with Del Favero in the area. The goalkeeper coming out seemed to take the ball, but Mr. Mirabella awarded the penalty, the first at home since May 19, 2021: Luciani himself was cool and did not miss. At 26′ Ortisi was still uncertain, Fiorani fooled him, but the ex on duty then wasted everything by mismeasuring the assist for Matera one step away from the goal.
The game changes definitively in the very first part of the second half. After 25” from the kick-off, Frisenna opens for Lia, a backward ball touched by Anatriello that Garofalo converts into a goal with a nice volley. Taranto swerves, also short of energy, Pedicillo grazes the post, but the third goal is postponed by a few moments: Ortisi paints it for the head of Anatriello who scores the third goal. It is the 50th minute, the game is over and sealed in full recovery by the absolute gem of Frisenna who puts a powerful shot under the crossbar from 25 meters.
