Corelli”, directed by Maestro Carmine Daniele Lisanti, teacher of the aforementioned Conservatory.

The programme, in addition to both sacred and traditional Christmas songs, will see the first performance in Messina of a work by the Welsh composer KARL JENKINS: the Te Deum, written in 2008 commissioned by the Liverpool Welsh Choral. It is a majestic and intense piece that sometimes uses music in the style of modern soundtracks. It is joyful and theatrical in character, ranging from the initial Bernstein/Gershwin-style rhythmic fanfare to a sweeping, lyrical vocal line to the march-like Sanctus with the joined voices emulating the rhythm of the percussion drum and the rolling trumpets spiral.

The concert will be repeated on Sunday 22nd at 6pm at the Madonna delle Lacrime Parish in Villaggio Santo-Bordonaro.
