The Emergency Department of the Piemonte Hospital reopened its doors last midnight. Good news for the users of Messina, who for a few days had access to the emergency departments of the Gaetano Martino University Hospital and the Papardo Hospital. Therefore, only those to the north and south of the city were available, but now everything is back to normal.
The emergency room of the hospital on Viale Europa is now much more functionalthanks to a ceiling of one million euros that was necessary in order to make the health facility even more efficient. In the spotlight, during the days of closure, which began on September 13, the verification of the air conditioning system, with relative calibration and sanitization of the distribution channels, then the control of the electrical system, the replacement of the Ups system, i.e. the electrical continuity group. And again: the remodeling of the toilets and service spaces and the replacement of the evaporative towers serving the entire hospital. But this was only the first tranche of interventions: next year, in fact, the green light will be given to the renovation of pavilions 3 and 5, currently reduced to ruins. All for a total cost of 11 million euros.
Subsequently, the restyling of all the other hospital pavilions is also planned. All the pavilions will then be renovated, in addition to the renovation of the Radiology department.
