The case of the attacks between young people that went viral on social media continues to take center stage Messina. The Juvenile Court Prosecutor’s Office, directed by Dr. Andrea Pagano, identified the minors accused of attacking a peer on the afternoon of Friday 11 October inside Villa Dante: a scene immortalized by a video that went “viral” in recent days. The two minors, aged 14 and 15, took turns attacking a fourteen-year-old, while two other 13-year-old girls belonging to the same group participated by making videos with their cell phones.

The victim of the attack

The victim of the attack was also identified. According to her, the episode occurred without any reason, after she was speciously accused by the suspects – part of a “group” not new to such shenanigans – of having addressed them with vulgar words. The victim was not injured and no charges will be filed.

The attack in via La Farina

During the same investigation activity, the minor believed to be the perpetrator of another gratuitous attack has been identified – this too filmed on a widely circulated video – which occurred in via La Farina, on the evening of 28 September. According to the information gathered, the minor, who beat and threatened her peer, was identified as one of the two thirteen-year-olds who filmed the attack in Villa Dante. Among those present, the other thirteen-year-old author of the Villa Dante video which triggered the attack by accusing the victim of having “hit on” with a boy she was interested in. Also on site was the fourteen-year-old co-responsible for the Villa Dante attack, who contacted the girl via telephone, giving her an appointment. The victim was not injured but the family will still file a complaint.

The third video

The fifteen-year-old perpetrator of the Villa Dante attack has been further identified among the girls involved in a fight (as evidenced by a third video widely disseminated in recent days), which occurred on the tram near Piazza Cairoli on August 24th. The minor was reported for fighting and disruption of public service. On the occasion of this other episode, the thirteen-year-old believed to be the perpetrator of the attack in Via La Farina was also present (although she did not actively participate).

Contrary to what has been announced in recent days, no investigative activity has been delegated by the Prosecutor’s Office for minors to the Municipal Police of Messina.
