The failed millionaire investment and the controversies. The withdrawal of Baker Hughes from the port of Coriglia did not arouse furious reactions.
The mayor Flavio Stasiwith bowls still, intervenes with a statement: «I have purposely avoided, in recent days, responding to the useless controversies of various members of the Regional Council to strengthen the common appeal, in low tones, to identify shared solutions. I learn that yes it is a will of the Municipality alone and I cannot help but interrupt the silence when the President of the Regional Council expresses himself, as always without arguments, who after having been on holiday from June to October, continues to tell fairy tales about the BH affair. If by “municipal shortsightedness” the governor means that there is a municipal administration that thinks and works so that Calabria is not the Banana Republic, starting from the procedures, we can easily claim this role. The real theme of this story, which Occhiuto tries to hide with proclamations, is that only a blind person could have highlighted the titanic shortcomings of the procedure: in this field everything is possible, but there is no single authorization in Italy that remotely resembles this “thing” issued for the Port of Corigliano and the investors evidently knew this. But above all, this problem was also communicated very well in advance both to the responsible body, which had months to remedy the matter, and to the Regional Council which, rather than carrying out its role of coordination and direction, remained totally immobile. for a squalid electoral spite. To every specific appeal to the Governor to unblock the matter through an institutional table or through a very banal but necessary conference of services, Occhiuto deliberately replied “absent”. Far from being a sorry president: unfortunately at the head of Calabria we have a person who does not think of the Calabrians, who does not respect the other institutions and who does not accept the electoral and democratic results which have catastrophically rejected his electoral bandwagon which, among other things, on BH he proposed an idea that was more imaginative than the other.”
