“From today, every time we look up at the sky to admire the play of light on festive evenings, we will know that Giovanni will be there to delight us with his art”: this is how he wanted to remember John Arigo Father Giovanni Pelleriti during the funeral rite presided over today in the Church of S. Maria della Consolazione in Villaggio Santo. To give the last farewell to the owner of the fireworks factory that exploded on July 5thin which Giovanni’s mother, Giusy Costa, was also injured. She is still hospitalized at the Centro Grandi Sitionati in Palermo, and his sister Cristina, who was present today with the victim’s wife and other family members to say a final farewell to the man who, with his art, embellished the patronal festivals of Messina and beyond.
