Messina, waiting for the Epiphany concert in the Cathedral with the Exsultate Jubilate choir and orchestra

There is great anticipation for the Epiphany concert which will feature next Saturday at 8pm in the Cathedral, the Exsultate Jubilate choir and orchestra directed by maestro Nazzareno De Benedetto. A large-scale event, the first promoted by the musical association “Exsultate Jubilate” chaired by mgr. Nicolò Freni, with the patronage of the Municipality. Godmother of the evening the soprano from Palermo Desirèe Rancatore, who returns to Messina a month after the concert held at the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele; an artist with an elegant and decisive style, Rancatore continues to tread the most famous stages in Europe and beyond. Together with her, the baritone Alessandro Vargetto and the soloists Giuseppe Ruggeri on the trumpet and Alida De Marco on the flute. A large-scale event as explained by the maestro and composer De Benedetto, who for the occasion wanted to put together the choral and instrumental formation of around 35 elements with 40 professionals, including teachers and students of the “Arcangelo Corelli” music conservatory and professors of the Vittorio Emanuele orchestra, “a sign of an artistic synergy aimed at promoting quality music”, as he himself declared. This is the objective of the musical association previously entitled “S. Nicolò”, which relaunches itself starting from this concert with new cultural and social objectives, explains Msgr. Brakes. The evening’s program is rich and complex and will see the performance of music by Beethoven, Hummel, Mozart, Chaminade, Yon, Verdi, Saint Saens and Adam. Tomorrow evening, Rancatore and Vargetto together with maestro De Benedetto will be guests of the live broadcast of Southern Gazette from the Village in via Laudamo conducted by Salvatore De Maria starting from 6pm.
