«The government’s amendment to the Milleproroghe decree has been filed for the retention in service, on a voluntary basis, of hospital doctors up to the age of 72. In addition to this first measure, two others are extended, so as to better respond to the needs of the Italian healthcare system and the requests received from the regions. Specifically, throughout 2026, it is possible to call back into service, again on a voluntary basis, doctors who retired at the age of 70 and who have not yet turned 72, and it also allows temporary contracts to be made for doctors who are retired”. This was announced by Luca Ciriani, minister for relations with Parliament. «An action, that of Minister Schillaci and the entire government, aimed and timely to make the healthcare sector more efficient and effective», concludes Ciriani.
