The Operations Room 115 of the Provincial Command of the Catanzaro Fire Brigade was alerted by the Carabinieri for the search for a missing person in the Pietra Bianca area, in the municipality of Taverna.
The woman, aged around 70, had entered a wooded area in search of mushrooms, losing her bearings and unable to return to the point where she had parked her car.
A team of firefighters from the headquarters, specialized TAS (Topography Applied to Rescue) personnel with AF/UCL (Advanced Command Post), and the team of volunteer firefighters from the Taverna detachment were sent to the site, who started search operations in the area.
At around 11pm the lady was identified by the Taverna volunteer firefighters and subsequently accompanied to the UCL in the intervention area. In fair general condition, she had a state of hypothermia and was entrusted to the 118 healthcare staff for the appropriate treatment.
The intervention concluded positively thanks to the rapid activation and coordination between the Fire Brigade, Carabinieri and healthcare personnel.
