A day of great importance for the Antonio Emanuele Augurusa Foundation, which in the council hall of the Municipality of Filogaso (VV) hosted His Excellency the Prefect of Vibo Valentia Anna Aurora Colosimo and His Excellency Most Reverend Monsignor Francesco Savino, Bishop of Cassano all’Ionio and Vice President of the Italian Episcopal Conference for southern Italy as speakers of honor in the free route of Higher education in Green Social Impact Manager (www.socialimpactmanager.it). Interventions that establish the closeness and support of the institutions, civil and ecclesiastical, to the Augurusa Foundation and the commitment it makes in combining local commitment and global vision.

In dialogue with the students, with the Mayor of Filogaso and with Monsignor Savino, Prefect Colosimo reiterated the importance of initiatives such as Green SIM, defined as an exceptional combination of the resources and excellence of the territory with the growth that comes from contributions outside the province. «I was favorably impressed by this initiative which manages to bring a program of the highest level and depth to a difficult area such as the province of Vibo. The reality that I found here today, the participation of these young people who come from all over Italy is an added value. Truly congratulations because it is a reality to be exported and imitated” commented Dr. Colosimo “It is a virtuous project and I really hope that it can be replicable. That good practices become normality, this is my wish for Calabria and the Province of Vibo.”

Consolidating the chosen direction of the Augurusa Foundation are also the words of Mons. Savino, who, placing emphasis on the values of solidarity, dignity and ethics, did not hesitate to praise the human and supportive perspective that the young Antonio Augurusa traced in his life and which today guides the mission of the Foundation: «I fully share the vision of this child Antonio, brilliant in heart, spirit and mind. We can achieve what he dreamed of by dreaming together, because if we all dream together they come true. Today together we must dream and we must activate those Peace processes so that they become reality.”

Guest of the Foundation last Friday 10 October also His Excellency Most Reverend Mons. Attilio Nostro, Bishop of Mileto–Nicotera–Tropea and Secretary of the Calabrian Episcopal Conference who in the Church of Sant’Agata a Filogaso shed light on the value of generativity and the importance of transfusing this value into social life. «Every time I come into contact with small towns, like Filogaso, I remember that the history of the world has changed through a family from a small remote village, Nazareth. I think that “in yeast” is something small in a large mass that slowly grows, and so I think it is also the vocation not only of Filogaso but also of the Augurusa Foundation: to be leaven for these kids” underlined Mons. Nostro looking at the work of the Foundation “To ferment the dough that they have in their hearts and which will surely become a great and beautiful thing”.

The Green SIM project, thus the work and vision of the Augurusa Foundation, is therefore confirmed as unique in the national panorama, managing to attract very high profile figures to the heart of Calabria to bring high education free of charge to young people from all over Italy and abroad, ready to learn concrete skills and tools to become actors of change. As Francesco Augurusa, President of the Augurusa Foundation, reminds us «Education is not a delegable task, but a collective responsibility. Green SIM is proof that even in complex territories, excellence can be generated, if you have a clear vision and the faith necessary to achieve it every day.”
