Blockx wins in two sets
In the match that closed the program on the Campo dei Principi, the 23-year-old Roman, number 16 in the world ranking and tenth seed in the draw, was defeated by the Belgian qualifier Alexander Blockx, number 91 in the ranking, with a score of 6-3 6-3 in an hour and 26 minutes of play.
The challenge now begins for Blockx against the Australian Alex de Minaur, the fifth seeding force.
