Moscow, Navalny’s body was handed over to his mother

The body of Alexei Navalny was handed over to his mother, his spokeswoman said. The spokesperson, Kira Yarmysh, wrote on X that Navalny’s body and his mother are still in Salekhard, the Arctic city where the body has so far been preserved in a hospital morgue. But it is not yet clear whether the funeral will be public or will have to remain secret, as the investigators claimed. “We still don’t know if the authorities will interfere in the possibility of them being celebrated in the way the family wants and that Alexei deserves, we will keep you informed when there is news,” concludes the spokeswoman.
