Fabio Di Giannantonio wins the Catalan Grand Prix, the sixth MotoGP round of the season. In a crazy race, after two red flag accidents and two other crashes, the Roman rider of the VR46 team (Ducati) triumphed ahead of the Spaniard Joan Mir (Honda) and Fermin Aldeguer (Ducati Gresini). Just off the podium was Ai Ogura (Aprilia Trackhouse), while in fifth place was Pecco Bagnaia’s Ducati. Then Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) sixth ahead of Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) and Luca Marini (Honda). Brad Binder (Ktm) and Diogo Moreira (Honda Lcr) close the top ten. A race, that of Montmelò, stopped twice due to a red flag. In the first crash, Alex Marquez raised the white flag, flying off the track after a contact with Acosta and seeing his bike destroyed; the second episode, however, features three drivers on the restart: Bagnaia, Marini and Zarco fall, with the Frenchman rescued on the track. The protagonists of the third episode are Jorge Martin and Adrian Fernandez, with the former ending up on the ground after a contact with the latter on a bend. In the final, Pedro Acosta was also out, having started from pole and remained in the lead for a good part of the race, touched by Ogura when he was still fully in the running for the podium.
