Francesco Bagnaia won the Sprint race of the Japanese GP. His official Ducati preceded that of teammate Enea Bastianini. Third was Marc Marquez, on the Team Gresini Ducati.
In fourth place was the MotoGP world leader Jorge Martin, followed by Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio. In the drivers’ standings Martina has 372 points. Bagnaia has reduced the gap to 15 points, while Bastianini is at -72 and Marc Marquez at -77. Pedro Acosta (KTM), who started from pole for the first time in the maximum displacement, and led for several laps after recovering from the overtaking suffered by Bagnaia at the start, fell with four laps remaining in the race.
Bagnaia: “It wasn’t a simple race”
“It wasn’t an easy race, but I’m very happy. I had to do the whole race with the least powerful map. In these conditions it’s not at all easy to win and bring home points. Now we continue to work in this direction: I thank my team”. This was declared by Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo), winner of the Sprint Race of the Japanese Grand Prix, on the Motegi circuit.
