With deep condolences, the world of Calabrian football mourns the passing of Professor Antonio Ferrazzo, a historical figure and point of reference for sport in the Tyrrhenian area of Cosenza and beyond. For around thirty years Ferrazzo held the role of Regional Councillor, leaving an indelible mark on the regional football scene.
The president of the LND Calabria, Saverio Mirarchi, deeply affected by the news, declared:
«Today we lose not only a manager of great value, but a sincere friend and an authentic promoter of sporting values. Antonio Ferrazzo dedicated his life to Calabrian football with a tireless passion and exemplary moral integrity. His constant commitment to the development of the football movement in the province of Cosenza and in the Upper Tyrrhenian Sea in particular has represented a beacon for all of us. His legacy will not be forgotten and will continue to inspire our daily work.
On behalf of the entire FIGC-LND Calabria Regional Committee, I express my deepest condolences to the Ferrazzo family in this moment of immense pain.”
In all amateur and youth championship matches scheduled from 7 to 10 November there will be a minute’s silence.
