A spacerather than a movement, open to citizens and to direct discussion on hot political issues and the city’s problemson the ideas and new foundations to be laid in view of the next spring elections. No party ambitions and, indeed, attention on the more social aspects and civic participation, with the great objective of bringing citizens closer to politics, of going against the “big party” of abstentionists which, as we know, is increasingly swelling the ranks of every election of every latitude. This is what was said about the “Lamezia” group for us”, promoted in the meantime by three citizens, Daniela Grandinetti, Annamaria Persico and Giuseppe Morello and which held a first public meeting this Thursday.

«The aim was to throw a stone into the pond of the politics of the infamous centre-left» explains Grandinetti, who then adds: «Convinced as we are, despite starting from different positions and stories, that it is necessary to fall in love with politics again, to be indignant for the things that aren’t working but also to act in a constructive way to start over from those that are.” «Not an outlet – he specifies – but a grassroots space to recover enthusiasm and the desire to believe in it, to build a network and bring out needs». A successful gamble, one would say, based on the good participation in the meeting of numerous citizens, representatives of associations and some political exponents, so much so that at the same request of those present, an appointment has already been made for next Thursday 28th, at the Chiostro Caffè Letterario, for a new meeting. «We are perhaps in the worst historical phase in terms of the separation between citizens and politics», adds Giuseppe Morello. «With this group – he explains – we want to create the conditions, with participatory tools, to intercept all those citizens outside the four parties who want to get passionate, get excited, entice themselves to have their say».
