The bitter controversy, which is still going on, on the wrong tender for separate waste collection and withdrawn in self-regulation, then the one for the cutting of trees in a private area by the company in charge of managing public greenery. The last nightmarish month and a half of the Environment sector of Palazzo De Nobili has led to the manager stepping back Antonio Dominianniwho yesterday morning submitted his resignation to the secretary general Vincenzina Sica and the mayor Nicholas Flowery.
Two years ago, upon the arrival of the new administration, he was appointed with the procedure of article 110 of the TUEL, therefore with a fixed-term contract but within the list of suitable candidates for that position. The sector has gone through delicate moments during the two-year period, having to deal with the change of assessor – after the exit, not without controversy, of Aldo Casalinuovo and the appointment in his place of George Arcuri. But the real issues came up during the summer that is now coming to an end, with the explosion of the case of the tender for the assignment of the separate waste collection service – anticipated by the Southern Gazette – and the risks to the employment of the employees currently employed by Sieco once the new company takes over. The outcry of various political forces and the peaceful “siege” of the workers at Palazzo De Nobili at the end of July led to a complete revision of the tender, which was then withdrawn due to the presence of what were defined as “errors” but which could have created problems.
