“Nothing could be more false and absurd”: this is what Andrea Stroppa – a person close to Elon Musk in Italy – says in reference to the news of an alleged donation of a Cybertruck equipped with a machine gun from Tesla’s number one to the Chechen leader Ramzam Kadyrov.
Between August 17 and 18, some media outlets “published articles with false and offensive titles and content. The articles suggest that Musk, Tesla’s CEO, gave a Tesla Cybertruck to Kadyrov, a Chechen leader under US government sanctions. Nothing could be more false and absurd. They wrote it – explains Stroppa, who accompanies the entrepreneur during his institutional engagements in Italy – precisely in the days in which Musk was a guest of honor at the United States Military Academy in West Point where he gave a speech to young army cadets. A charade that demonstrates total ignorance of what Musk represents for the United States, beyond the sterile polemics. Musk leads one of the most important and strategic US companies, an excellence that actively collaborates with the US government, defense and intelligence. These articles are a disservice to readers and an insult to fellow journalists who work seriously”.
