Nadia Battocletti closes her magical 2024 by triumphing in the ‘BOclassic’ in Bolzano. In the 5 kilometers of the traditional New Year’s Eve afternoon event in the streets of the historic center of the South Tyrolean capital, this year in its 50th edition, the Italian won at the end of an exciting race in which she was the protagonist from the first metres. Battocletti, an athlete of the Fiamme Azzurre originally from the nearby Val di Non, on a sunny but cold afternoon, won with the same time with which she had won exactly twelve months ago, 15’30. Second place goes to Ethiopian Aleshign Baweke, 5 seconds behind, third place goes to Turkish Yasemin Can at 35 seconds. Federica Del Buono fourth at 36″.

This season Nadia Battocletti, trained by her father Giuliano, was the great protagonist of the European Championships in Rome, gold in the 5000 and 10,000 meters, she was a wonderful silver medal in the 10,000 meters at the Paris Olympics (fourth in the 5000m), and less than a month ago she won gold at the European cross country championships. On Sunday Battocletti will be competing at the ‘Cross del Campacvò.
