An avalanche of approved agenda items with which to implement the obligations, but it is in the preliminaries that the political thrusts are consummated. The last city council of 2024 sees the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà shooting arrows at the centre-right government parties: «The work done for the university campus in Reggio Calabria must be recognized, a project worth 4 million eurosbut what happened to the Agapi campus in Saline Joniche, which should have included the university residence, the canteen, a sports center and training activities?”.

He retraces the events dating back to 2021: «The Agapi campus was presented by the same protagonists of today, I remember the meetings with representatives of the University and Ministries, to present a 90 million euro project. What happened to him? What is the truth? Will Reggio have two campuses, or has the first project been put aside in silence? If so, we would like to understand why and how we can go from 90 to 4 million. Where did the 90 million of the Pnrr go?”. Clarity is requested around this issue, so much so that the mayor expressed the request to the Prime Minister, Enzo Marra, to convene an ad hoc session on the future of the training offer. And then we could not miss an analysis of the “burning” last place in the “Il sole 24 ore” ranking on the quality of life which according to the mayor has shaken the sense of belonging. «This ranking has revealed an often dormant feeling of identity. It made the people of Reggio say: “Let’s look at the real indicators.”
