The senator of Action Marco Lombardo submitted a question to the Minister of the Interior regarding the failure to prepare protection and supervision measures for the entrepreneur Francesco De Nisi, who in recent years has reported extortion requests by alleged members of the ‘Ndrangheta. In the question, Lombardo explains that «at the moment, despite repeated reminders, no response has been given to the request presented on 27 January 2023 to the Prefecture of Vibo Valentia by the engineer Francesco De Nisi for the adoption of protection and supervision in his favor, due to the threats and intimidation received by him and reported to the competent authorities”.
Lombardo recalls that in the political-institutional activity carried out, De Nisi, currently regional councilor and regional secretary of Action, «he took actions and behaved explicitly against the infiltration of criminal organizations and reported cases of extortion related to building works. The reports of extortion led to the application of numerous precautionary measures against the suspects. De Nisi – continues the Action senator in his question – denounces that today he is a double target: on the one hand of explicit threats to the safety of his person, on the other hand of slander, which, even if unsubstantiated, compromise his reputation”.
Finally, in the question, Lombardo asks the Minister of the Interior «if he is aware of the matter and if he does not deem it appropriate to alert the competent authorities for a timely evaluation of the reported circumstances, for the purposes of recognizing the protection and surveillance measures in favor of Francesco De Nisi”.
