Eighty-three sentences ranging from two to 20 years in prison and 36 acquittals: it ended like this, in the bunker classroom of Castrovillari, the shortened process called Resetinstructed by the DDA of Catanzaro against the Confederate ‘Ndrangheta of Cosenza. The preliminary hearing judge Fabiana Giacchetti read the sentence at the end of two hours of deliberation. Among those acquitted is the councilor in charge of the Municipal Police and Maintenance of the Municipality of Cosenza, Francesco De Cicco.
At the time of the events, in 2022, he was councilor for maintenance and urban decoration. The prosecutors Corrado Cubellotti and Vito Valerio had requested four years and ten months of imprisonment against him. During the Reset operation, on September 1, 2022, the investigating judge ordered De Cicco under house arrest because he was accused of association aimed at gambling aggravated by mafia purposes. The councilor, then suspended, was released on April 7, 2023 after the Supreme Court ruling which annulled the order with which the Court of Freedom had confirmed the precautionary measure imposing the obligation to stay. Among the condemned are the leaders of the clan such as Marco Abbruzzese (20 years imprisonment), Antonio Abbruzzese40 years (20 years imprisonment), Antonio Abruzzese alias Rusciatappine (14 years and one month), Luigi Abbruzzese (20 years old), Bevilacqua flower alias «Mano Mozza» (19 years old). They all belong to the Gypsy clan. Also convicted were old bosses of caliber, now serving life sentences, such as Gianfranco Ruà (13 years and 8 months) and Gianfranco Bruni (11 years).
