Netflix has reached a deal to buy Warner Bros. Paramount’s studios and streaming assets for $83 billion, in a deal set to reshape Hollywood. The American media reported it. “Together we can give audiences what they want and love,” Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said of the Warner Bros Discovery acquisition deal. The streaming TV giant beat out Paramount Skydance and Comcast, which had submitted offers for Warner Bros.

The deal will have to be approved by antitrust authorities and the road may not be easy. According to rumors, Donald Trump would have preferred Warner Bros to be purchased by Paramount Skydance, the giant led by David Ellison, the son of Larry Ellison, an ally of the president.

The Department of Justice is preparing to “launch a broad investigation into Netflix’s alleged monopoly on the streaming market” if Warner Bros Discovery accepts its offer, sources have told American media. The wedding unites two giants and reshapes Hollywood. Warner Bros has in its catalog films such as “Casablanca”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “Gone with the Wind”, but also “Harry Potter” and “Superman”. HBO, Warner Bros’ streaming service, has some very successful ones, from “White Lotus” to “Sex and the City” via “The Guilded Age”.
