In Catanzaro, healthcare permeates everything. And urban planning is also affected. It is therefore no coincidence that the debate on the location of the new hospital also “broke in” during the press conference presenting the municipal structural plan just launched by the council which directed it towards the debate in the Chamber. The first to intervene on the issue was the deputy mayor Giusy Iemma who clarified how the structural plan is an urban framework and must therefore not locate the new hospital: «Saying this would mean making the same mistake as the Region by assigning the task to the Polytechnic of Milan before having felt the political choice.”
