US launches missile at ship, ‘wanted to circumvent Iranian blockade’

US forces fired a missile at a ship attempting to head towards an Iranian port in violation of the US blockade, disabling the vessel. This was stated by the US Central Command, underlining that the ship, the M/T Lexie flying the Botswana flag, “ignored repeated warnings” over a 24-hour period. An aircraft then intervened and disabled the vessel by “launching a Hellfire missile at the ship’s engine room.”
