The era of mayor-led administration ends Giacomo Perrotta. This morning, nine city councilors submitted their resignations, registering them around 8.30. Among the signatories, also the former deputy mayor Annalisa Alfano – who resigned during the last municipal council, during which she voted against the motion of no confidence presented by seven minority councilors – and the former majority group leader, who also recently resigned following the mayor’s decision to join Forza Italia. Therefore, the nine resigning directors are Giuseppe Angona, Raffaele D’Anna, Eugenio Orrico, Angelo Paravati, Francesco Silvestri, Giuseppe Antonio Torrano, Giovanna Versace, Gianna Fiore and Annalisa Alfano. The dissolution of the City Council is therefore now certain.
“It was an honor to serve my country – declared the now former mayor Giacomo Perrotta – Traitors are and will remain so forever. Very soon, with a clear head, I will do a live broadcast in which we will analyze the situation by calling things by name and surname. See you soon and thanks again to everyone.” Also for Scalea, therefore, as already happened for Cetraro, the commissioner management of the municipal body is looming, until the next elections. In fact, we are moving towards the early dissolution of the municipal council, in a political climate characterized by divisions and resentments, giving a glimpse of a very tough electoral campaign, given that, especially in this last part of the council, a series of rifts have taken place which they cannot fail to have a profound impact on the political future of the city.

With the aforementioned provision, the Prefect, given that there are reasons of serious and urgent need connected to the impossibility of ensuring the normal functioning of the elective bodies, has entrusted Dr. with the temporary management of the Municipality.
