Not just the commanding node: the municipal police of Messina is a case

On the agenda of the political debate there is the topic of municipal police, circled in red. The appointment of the new commander for six months – Maurizio Cannavò, current commander of the municipal police of Ragusa, where he will have to ensure presence for one day a week (even remotely) -, after the adamant dismissal of Stefano Blasco and the indefinite postponement of the oft-announced competition has put the spotlight back on a Corps which has always paid the price of a significant shortage of personnel. A deficiency to which the Administration, as recently reiterated by the mayor Federico Basile, wants to deal with one hundred new hires quickly, but has to deal with today’s numbers. Numbers, in reality, rather merciless.
