The Ministry of University and Research has allocated 2,185,958.23 euros to the universities of Sicily to support the rental costs of off-site students for the year 2024. Students with an ISEE not exceeding 20,000 euros who do not benefit from other public contributions for accommodation will be able to benefit from the support.
The beneficiary universities are the University of Catania (1,042,378.23), the University of Messina (213,969.46) and the University of Palermo (929,610.54).
“Guaranteeing a bed place for off-site students – says the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini – means implementing the right to study. This is a priority issue for the government and an issue that is particularly close to our hearts – concludes the Minister – because we are aware of the efforts that families must make to allow their children to study at the desired university. We must all be at their side.”
The resources allocated by the MUR to the Universities amount to 16 million euros. This instrument supports the allocation of 880 million for scholarships. A record investment that demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to implementing the right to education, so as to reduce inequalities and enhance the country’s educational opportunities.
