During the meeting of the CRIAS Board of Directors, meeting on 8 October by the president Vitalba Vaccaro and on the proposal of the general director Giacomo Terranova (in the photo), a series of measures regarding medium-term credits for a total of over one million and 700 thousand euros were approved. The financing approved at a very low interest rate, of 0.96% for young entrepreneurs and 1.28% for other businesses, confirms the role of CRIAS as a tool for the growth of artisan entrepreneurship.

In particular, during the session, medium-term credits were granted for the purchase of laboratories, machinery and equipment as follows: Messina one million and 80 thousand euros, Catania 620 thousand euros. “The sector of artisan businesses is growing in the Sicilian territory – states Giacomo Terranova, Director of the nascent Irca (institute which will soon incorporate Crias and Ircac) – and is now an indispensable sector in the national economic system. According to an Istat survey – highlighted Terranova – Sicily is among the Italian regions with the greatest concentration of artisan businesses, which highlights the importance of these realities on the Sicilian territory and on which the department productive activities are investing a lot, as demonstrated by the tranche of over 100 million euros earmarked by councilor Tamajo for the “+crafts” measure also headed by Crias. In this context, the IRCA division for artisan businesses plays a fundamental role not only because it supports one of the most important supply chains of the island’s economic fabric, but also because, by intervening with loans at subsidized rates, it encourages the growth of start-ups and new entrepreneurship”.
