Ten days of corporal torture, extreme humiliations, food and sleep deprivations, forced to swallow toxic substances: so he died last Monday, on the twelfth day of “live”, Jean Pormanove, a streamer considered a star by thousands of people who followed him on the net on the controversial Kick platform, where it seems almost all possible. The 46-year-old man suffered everything from two friends-fillers, known online as narutovie and safes.
“A staging,” their lawyers say now. But Pormanove, who was actually called Raphael Graven, died and magistrates investigating the facts arranged an autopsy. Nice prosecutor – The facts took place in the nearby town of Contes – Damien Martinelli has announced that he had already interrogated several people who were present at the time of the victim’s death, to try to get an idea of the causes and conditions in which Pormove was located.
The images of the last 10 minutes of video, when the victim already seems to be life without life, show him alongside a man known on the net as “couudoux”, after suffering the daily violence from “accomplices”. The movies and the “scene” material were seized.
The magistrates had opened a first investigation already on December 16, after the publication of an article of reporting the Mediapart website. Videos were described in which “vulnerable” people were subjected to “violence and humiliations, sometimes with the encouragement to pay sums of money against those who were connected online”.
The two “friends” of the Streamer, Narutovie and Safine, had been stopped, Pormove questioned. On that occasion, “he decided in a decisive way that they were the victim of violence, specifying that the facts were part of a staging to earn strong sums of money”, the magistrates had said. Pormanove had spoken “of sums equal to 6,000 euros” through “a company” by the TV platform Australian streaming Kick: “I have never been injured – he said -, I’m completely free of my movements and decisions”.
He also refused to be visited by a doctor or psychiatrist. The Kick platform is in the viewfinder: Pormove had “migrated” some time ago towards the Australians after his extreme deeds, live, had been banned from the Twitch TV. The French digital minister, Clara Chappaz, denounced “an absolute horror” and activated “the Authority for the rules of the audiovisual and digital Arom communication”.
