The management of the Tourism Department of the last two legislatures, even regardless of any criminal liability, has proven to be extremely opaque, inefficient and inadequate to respond to the needs of Sicilian citizens. The notice of conclusion of investigations by the judiciary in which, according to what we learn from press sources, serious irregularities are hypothesized in the management of funds by the current Tourism Councilor, and the subsequent request for indictment, constitute only the latest, sensational manifestation of the critical issues that have long afflicted the work of the regional Tourism, Sport and Entertainment Department. Despite the seriousness of the complaints that emerged and the evident inadequacy of the management, the President of the Region, however, did not deem it appropriate to adopt any measures to protect the public interest and Sicilian citizens. Therefore, we express censure against the regional councilor Elvira Amata, for having poorly carried out the functions connected to her role”. The regional deputies of the 5 Star movement wrote this in the motion of censure filed yesterday at the Ars to ask the president of the Schifani Region to “provide without any delay for the immediate removal” of the member of his government. All eleven members of the M5S group and the Countercurrent MP Ismaele La Vardera signed the document.
