China’s proposal to end the conflict

Peaceful coexistence, national sovereignty, respect for international law and Development and security. These are the titles of the four points of the Chinese proposal for the solution to the US-Iran conflict. Mao Ning, spokesperson for Beijing’s Foreign Minister, posted them on social media.

«President Xi Jinping has put forward four proposals to safeguard and promote peace and stability in the Middle East.

– Maintain commitment to the principle of peaceful coexistence. The Gulf States in the Middle East are close neighbors who cannot be moved. It is important to support the Gulf States in improving their relations, work to build a common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security architecture for the Middle East and the Gulf region, and consolidate the foundations for peaceful coexistence.

– Maintain commitment to the principle of national sovereignty. Sovereignty represents the basis for the survival and development of all countries, especially developing ones, and must not be violated. The sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the Gulf States must be seriously respected, and the safety of their personnel, structures and institutions must be vigorously protected.

– Maintain commitment to the principle of the international rule of law. It is important to firmly defend the international system with the UN at its centre, the international order based on international law and the fundamental norms governing international relations, founded on the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.

– Maintain commitment to a balanced approach to development and security. Security is a prerequisite for development, and development serves as a guarantee for security. All parties should work to create an enabling environment and bring positive energy to the development of the Gulf States. China is ready to share the opportunities arising from Chinese modernization with the Gulf countries, and work with them to cultivate fertile ground for regional development and security.”
