Palmi, ceremony in memory of the fallen of Nassiriya: the Carabinieri does not forget

It took place this morning, at the headquarters of the Carabinieri Company of Palmi, the ceremony on the occasion of Day in memory of the fallen of Nassiriya, on the 22nd anniversary of the massacre which on 12 November 2003 cost the lives of 28 people, including 19 Italians – 12 Carabinieri, 5 Army soldiers and 2 civilians.

During the commemoration, particular mention was made of Deputy Brigadier Domenico Intravaia, after whom the Palmi barracks was named in 2016. The ceremony was attended by Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri of Reggio Calabria, the numerous local authorities city ​​school groups, who wanted to pay homage to the fallen with readings and the intonation of theAnthem of Italy.

The young participants also addressed a thought to the families of the victims, underlining the value of loyalty, commitment and sacrifice of those who, like the soldiers who fell in Nasiriyah, worked for international peace and security.

During the ceremony one was laid laurel wreath in memory of all the fallen and having read the motivation with which Vice Brigadier Intravaia was awarded, in memory, the Cross of Honor to victims of terrorist or hostile acts in military and civil operations abroad.
