A party, the Democratic Party, crossed by controversies. As soon as one dies down, another explodes, just to keep in training and not lose the critical streak, aimed more inside the political association than outside. The recent splits between factions have only highlighted this divisive spirit, revealed, for example, with respect to the law on municipal mergers, as well as in consideration of the problems regarding territorial health.
The upcoming Festa dell’Unità, scheduled in the capital of Bruzio from 12 to 15 September, could therefore be transformed into a festival of reconciliation, if only because the organizers intend to leave the conflicts behind them so as to look everyone in the same direction.
In the meantime, the distances between some exponents of the local Democratic ruling class still appear to be widened. This was highlighted by the demonstration in the square in recent days, called for by the city club headed by the young secretary, Rose Caligiuri, called to avoid lowering attention on the critical issues of the Annunziata hospital (in the field, among others, the various Carlo Guccione, Nicola Adamo, Enza Bruno Bossio), orphaned, however, of a significant part of the Democratic Party.
The provincial coordinator was absent, Victor Pecorarothe President of the Assembly, Mary Locanto, as well as the regional councilors represented by Cosenza, Mimmo Bevacqua And Franco Iacucci, and the president of the civic council of Palazzo dei Bruzi, Joseph MazzucaDifferent points of view also emerged on other hotly debated topics, such as the single city project, towards which the three “dissident” city councilors also showed openness. Francesco Graziadio, Aldo Trecroci And Gianfranco Tintoexpelled from the party after having resigned from the council group, whose position is now being examined by the regional Guarantee Commission.
