An area of ​​about 8,000 square meters adjacent to a tourist village, in the locality of Macchia, was seized by the military of the Carabinieri Forestry Carabinieri of Cetrarofollowing a control aimed at verifying the legitimate use of state property.

The inspection, carried out in recent days with the technical support of the staff of the Calabria Regional Directorate – Territorial Services of Cosenza and in the presence of the Head of the Technical Office of the Piedmontese Municipality of Guardia, has brought to light numerous illegal works carried out without the necessary authorizations and in use to the tourist structure.

Among the artifacts found, they include a water tank, a well, and showers, as well as a portion of the area paved and equipped with urban furnishings such as benches, fountains, planters and a fully functional lighting system.

The entire land is owned by the state, protected by landscape bond, and cannot be the subject of employment or transformation without regular concessions. At the disposal of the Public Prosecutor of Paola, the area administrator of the tourist village for the crimes of invasion of state -owned land and abusive building was proceeded with the seizure of the area.

The investigations continue to clarify the responsibilities and the possible involvement of further subjects in the management and illegal use of the area.
