Ponte, the Government ready to redo the resolution “if necessary”

The Government’s line is increasingly marked by prudence, because at this point the question of timing is not decisive, but rather that relating to the “unassailability” of the documents and procedures. And, therefore, if we have to ask for a new opinion from the Superior Council of Public Works, or request that of the Transport Regulatory Authority, or even redo the resolution and ask the Cipess to re-approve it, it will not be surprising if the Presidency of the Council of Ministers takes these paths. One fact is certain: if until now almost only the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini and the “Stretto” company managed by Pietro Ciucci had been concerned with the Bridge over the Strait, now both Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and above all the Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti (remember that the Mef is the majority shareholder of the “Strait of Messina” itself) intend to dictate the lines of action from now until the next few months.
The Bridge game remains one of the most delicate games for the national government to play. The wait for the reasons for the denial opposed by the Court of Auditors to the Cipess resolution of 6 August, if, on the one hand, has blown up the timetable indicated several times (often recklessly) by Minister Salvini, on the other, is allowing for extensive internal reflection within the executive led by Giorgia Meloni.
