“Maybe. We came close to drawing on more than one occasion. It was clearly not our day. In football, what counts are the incidents that unfortunately condemned us. A draw would have been fairer. But we can’t wait to get back on the field because we intend to return to winning ways. Ours is a strong group that will fight to win the championship. The objective is clear and we won’t back down.”
Are you still behind physically?
“The coach reiterated it too. We are not at the top yet and we will be soon. Dall’Oglio, Barillà and myself are struggling a bit and in a few weeks we will reach 100% condition. We need to have faith and I am convinced, I repeat, that we will recover.”
Is Scafatese the opponent to beat?
“No, we only fear Siracusa. We consider ourselves stronger than the Campanians. The Aretusei, on the other hand, have a solid team and in a few days we will face them in a direct clash”.
Do you feel pressure to come first?
“It’s normal that it exists. I’ve played in the past in hot and important places, see Catania and Livorno and I realize that you can’t make mistakes. Reggio is another particular environment, coming off a bankruptcy and intending to redeem itself. Serie D is too small for our city and we will try to embrace professionalism again”.
What can you tell us about the goal-no goal?
“Honestly, I saw very little. I don’t think the ball went in. Initially, the referee had awarded the goal, then he decided not to validate it.”

“We’ll have to fight. He has some good individualities and already gave us a hard time last year.”
