The “stagnant” waters of Tremestieri are moving. In Palermo, the manager of Service 1 of the Territory and Environment Department should sign by tomorrow the authorization for the dredging operations of the seabed of one of the two landings remained buried by the sand, following the storms between 1 and 2 February. In Messina, the Prefect Cosima of Stani will shortly convene the crisis unit, requested by the commissioner of the port system authority, in view of the distress of the trafficking of crossing the Strait in the months of July and August. Meanwhile, the lawyer Ciccio Rizzo chaired a meeting of the body of partnership of the sea resource (advisory body, provided for by the law of the port system reform, composed of the various “stakeholders” and representatives of bodies and territorial organizations), precisely to face the Tremestieri emergency.
An emergency that appears even more paradoxical if you think that, On the one hand, a slide remains covered for 5 months (and causes the invasion of the trucks in the city) due to the lack of authorization to the arrival of the draga by the Sicilian region, and on the other hand, however, at a short distance, the construction site of the new port is proceeding at encouraging rhythms, thanks also to the supervision of Eng. Francesco di Sarcina, appointed government commissioner just to carry out the work.
