«We are talking – says the parliamentarian – about a procedure that raises serious doubts about transparency and the protection of the public interest. In fact, a single offer was favored, preventing the participation of other economic operators and nullifying any competitive comparison, in clear violation of the Procurement Code and the rules on free competition”. Also referred to in the question, the note continues, “is the alarming financial situation of the organisation, which presents a deficit of over 83 million euros”. “Awarding such an onerous concession, with a budget already at risk of default, is an irresponsible act for which someone will have to answer” states Baldino. A further critical issue, according to the parliamentarian, “concerns the lack of transparency: access to documents requested by citizens and provincial councilors would have been denied or partially processed, limiting itself to the publication of only the documents already available on the institutional website”. “The government – concludes Vittoria Baldino – verifies: the correctness of the procedure adopted; the possible impact of the operation on the sustainability of the provincial budget; where public spending escapes all control.”
