«I express with conviction my full support for Franz Caruso’s candidacy for the Presidency of the Province of Cosenza». Thus the MEP Pasquale Tridico, already a candidate for the presidency of the Calabria Region, formalizes his support for the mayor of Cosenza.

According to Tridico, this is a choice that represents «the natural continuation of that path of the progressive camp that we had the courage to experiment with for the first time in Calabria during the last regional elections».

“Necessary and possible unity”

The former candidate for leadership of the Region recalls that experience, which was born “in difficult conditions and under tight deadlines”, but which demonstrated how “the unity of progressive, democratic and civic forces is not only possible, but necessary to offer the Calabrians a serious and credible alternative to the policies of recent years”.

In his speech, Tridico underlines how Franz Caruso embodies the values of progressivism: «Administrative competence, attention to the needs of the territories, vision of sustainable development and social justice. His experience as mayor of Cosenza has demonstrated concrete ability to govern and listen to communities.”

The challenge for the Province

«The Province of Cosenza – he continues – needs a guide who knows how to put citizen services, infrastructure, schools, work and sustainable development at the centre. Franz Caruso has the qualities and the program to do it.”

For Tridico, the progressive camp “is not a tactical alliance, but a strategic project to rebuild hope and a future in Calabria”, starting from the territories and intermediate institutions.

The appeal to democratic forces

The MEP concludes with a direct appeal: «I invite all democratic, progressive and civic forces to support Franz Caruso with conviction. It’s time to demonstrate that change is possible, starting right from the Provinces.”

A political support that strengthens Caruso’s candidacy and relaunches the debate on the future structure of the Province of Cosenza.
