The centre-left’s path towards the elections for the renewal of the Catanzaro Provincial Council, scheduled for March 28th, officially begins. A political confrontation, which began yesterday afternoon in the headquarters of the “Giovanni Puccio” Democratic Party, which opens in the name of unity and responsibility, with the declared objective of building a broad, cohesive and competitive coalition.
The protagonists of the meeting
Representatives of the main progressive forces in the area met: regional councilor Enzo Bruno, group leader of Tridico Presidente; the provincial secretary of the Democratic Party Gregorio Gallello; the provincial secretary of the PSI Domenico Marino; Tommaso Chiodo representing Avs; Tonino Talarico for Casa Riformista; and Mimmo Serrao, provincial secretary of Rifondazione Comunista.
Strategy and working method
The meeting marked the start of a structured work phase, aimed at defining a unitary political proposal for the government of the Province of Catanzaro. Even though it is a second level competition, based on the vote of local administrators, the centre-left representatives highlighted the need for a broad discussion with councilors and local representatives, in the awareness that, even in this context, dialogue and solid political relations remain crucial.
Programmatic and territorial objectives
During the meeting, the desire to move along two tracks emerged: on the one hand, identifying authoritative candidates rooted in the territories; on the other, building a clear political message, focused on the concrete priorities of the provincial body. Among the topics indicated are the maintenance of the provincial road network, the safety and adaptation of school buildings, the capacity for planning and management of resources and the strengthening of the role of the Province as a coordination and support body for the Municipalities.
Towards a progressive broad field
The representatives of the centre-left reiterated their desire to present themselves united, valorising the administrative experience gained in the territories and making institutional skills and representation available.
The objective is to give shape to a broad progressive field, capable of expressing a credible government proposal for the Province of Catanzaro, based on responsibility, coherence and shared vision. The center-left table adjourned until next week.
