In the end the extension arrived, even if it is currently limited to three months. In any case, those assigned to the Health Department will not return to their ASPs and hospitals of origin, as hypothesized a few weeks ago during a heated debate at the ARS.
With a decree signed on 31 December, the same day the positions expired, the contracts of the senior managers were extended: Massimiliano Maisano, Paola Proia, Roberto Virzì, Francesco Paolo La Placa, Fabrizio Geraci, Federico Ferro, Elvira Mancuso. And then also those of Antonello Marras, Marco La Duca, Loredana Mucera, Angelo Foresta and Vincenzo Indorante.
Similarly, the contracts of 9 officials headed by ASP and hospitals in the Department of Health were extended: Alessandra Befana, Cinzia Buccoleri, Brigida Valentina Di Gregorio, Laura Como, Paola Sciarrotta, Fabio Innusa, Rosalia Valeria Miceli, Giuseppe Vultaggio and Maria Muratore.
These are not the names of all the historical commanders: only those who lead a structure of the department had the extension while a dozen managers did not have the extension and will therefore return to their original offices from today. Others, however, have contracts expiring in June and will continue regularly.
The extension was contested by the opposition to the Ars. Because in reality the list of those commanded is longer and it includes names with excellent connections in politics. Furthermore, the overall cost of the 42 subordinates, 26 managers and 16 officials, is 7.6 million: the result of gross salaries that fluctuate between 100 thousand and 150 thousand euros gross per year for managers and between 50 and 62 thousand for officials. The controversy arose when the council announced that the stabilization procedure would begin at least for the officials. Councilor Daniela Faraoni replied in the ARS chamber that these personnel hold strategic positions especially with regards to the spending of Pnrr funds. Yet the extensions requested several times and often denied due to opposition from Palazzo d’Orleans only reached the last available day.
The extension decrees are part of an avalanche of measures that councilors and managers of all branches of administration signed in the last two days of the year. Among these there are those who assign just over 4 million contributions from the old Table H to hundreds of associations that participated in the tender.
