The commitment of the municipal administration for urban decoration continues. On the morning of Sunday 5 October, the commissioner Carreri, together with the representatives of the third municipality, followed closely the reclamation operations conducted by the Messinaservizi teams in some city areas particularly affected by degradation.

A complex intervention, which requires considerable use of staff and economic resources. The images collected during the day unequivocally show the severity of the situation: illicit abandonments, bags of waste picked alongside the bins, furniture, strollers and bulky ones left on the street, as well as games vandalized in the areas dedicated to children.

Urban degradation and new control measures

“They are unacceptable scenes – it was reiterated during the inspection – which offend the entire community and nullify the daily work of those who commit themselves to keeping the city clean and livable”. To combat the phenomenon, new strategic points have been identified to install video surveillance cameras, in order to discourage the acts of incivility and trace the managers of the abandonments.

Monitoring, ensure from the Municipality, will continue weekly in all municipalities. The reports collected will be sent to the municipal police for the appropriate measures.

Messinaservizi’s commitment

Thanks to the operators of Messinaservizi, who work with seriousness and dedication to guarantee an essential service to the city every day. “There is a single road – it was underlined – that of respect and collaboration: only in this way can we build a better messina, for everyone”.
