The bulletin of 22 May 2026 of the commissioner structure led by the president of the Region Renato Schifani and whose offices are directed by the sub-commissioner Santi Trovato concerns the maintenance works in the apartments, Parco Magnolia, Fondo Saccà and demolitions.
MAINTENANCE
The commissioner structure, in addition to the acquisition in the real estate market, manages and provides for the ordinary/extraordinary maintenance of the accommodation intended for families coming from the rehabilitation areas. The works range from the installation of fixtures, doors, windows, to the arrangement of new toilets, boilers, electrical systems, air conditioners, painting, flooring and all those interventions that make a home fully comfortable and safe. There are numerous homes that require major interventions before being assigned to families.
There are currently 13 companies involved in the renovation of accommodation located in different areas of Messina. The apartments that the offices directed by sub-commissioner Santi Trovato have assigned to companies to plan and/or carry out the interventions are 69. The current number of apartments where maintenance work is underway is 33, while in another 14 the works are already scheduled. There are 22 properties completed and ready for delivery and the dates for completion of maintenance in the others have already been defined. By the end of May the companies will deliver 8 apartments to the commissioner offices, another 19 will be completed by the end of June, 7 by the end of July, 3 by the end of August and finally 10 by the end of September.
BAG BOTTOM
On Thursday 4 June at 11am at Fondo Saccà the Commissioner’s Structure will hand over the areas completely reclaimed by the Cericola company to the Municipality of Messina and to Invitalia (for the parts of their respective competence) for the construction of an ecological condominium as part of the Capacity project. At Fondo Saccà the Commissioner’s Structure together with the implementing body Invitalia will create 32 of the 40 total homes planned in the area where 67 families lived in shacks who were moved to new homes in recent years.
MAGNOLIA PARK
The tender for the reclamation and redevelopment of the Magnolia Park in Giostra has been published, where the monumental tree that is over two centuries old and the historic Villa De Gregorio stand, both placed under the protection of the Superintendency of Cultural and Environmental Heritage. The first session for the evaluation of the offers received will be held on Monday 8 June.
DEMOLITIONS
The Lutiviem company has resumed demolition in via del Proto in the Ariella district. From next week the bulldozers will be in action in via Appennini where the Scopelliti company will start the first demolitions.
