Three platinum points for Reggina, but a performance to be reviewed. This is how the afternoon of the Amaranth team can be summed up, as they beat Licata and shortened the distance from the top. The Amaranths are now -4 behind leaders Scafatese and -2 from Siracusa.
The Granillo challenge was decided by Jacopo Dall’Oglio: The midfielder scored in the 16th minute with a free kick deflected off the wall. It was the episode that unblocked a match in which, at least initially, the hosts dominated the game and collected scoring chances. The feeling is that the team benefited from the move to 4-3-3, a formation that allowed them to count on the ideas of the attacking fullbacks Ragusa and Provazza.
The Amaranths’ mistake was that they failed to capitalize on their supremacy, ending up keeping the match in the balance and giving hope to Licata. The Sicilians were the protagonists of a good performance, but found courage when Reggina chose to close down.
